About Bol
Bol is the oldest coastal settlement on Braè. It exists in the solitude of the
southern landscape, at the foot of the Bol crown and Vidova Mountain – the highest
island peak and at the same time the highest point of all Adriatic islands (778 m).
It stretches few kilometers along the coast. The sea in front of it is crystal clear,
transparent waves resemble a cut crystal.
Bol has many beautiful beaches. To the west from Bol lies the beach Zlatni rat
(Golden Horn) one of the largest and most beautiful attractions of the Adriatic. Like
a small tongue it extends nearly half a kilo-metre into the clear blue sea.
It “grows” with the depositing and sedimentation of small gravelly pebbles around
the underwater reef. The point of the Zlatni rat (Golden horn) changes shape,
attempting to conform to the will of the waves and gentle sea currents.
Dominican monastery, rising in the holy peace is located on the east side of Bol, at
the peninsula Glavica. Its museum has a rich archeological collection and diverse
valuable objects and paintings.The urban core of Bol is shaped along the port. There
are baroque summer residence, Loza with a little church, renaissancee-baroque palace
with an art gallery inside it, parish church, little market and Kastil. Stylish
buildings modestly fit the harmonious houses made in the original national
architectural style…
The west side of the settlement has been built more recently. The main hotels in Bol
are located in the area towards Zlatni rat.
Bol is a locality of exceptional maritime benefits. Its coast with numerous corners
of peace and pleasures gives a feeling of a large free space, is created for
meditation and relaxation but also for active holidays.
The scent of medicinal sage and rosemary under the sunny slopes,and chirring of
crickets is the deepest primeval music. In this area, each visitor will be able to
enjoy himself/herself.
Bol ist die älteste Stadt an der Küste der Insel Brac und liegt für sich allein in
der Mitte der Südküste der Insel. Steil über Bol erhebt sich die Gebirgskette Bolska
Kruna mit dem Berg Vidova Gora (778 m) - dem höchsten Berg der adriatischen Inseln.
Bol erstreckt sich einige Kilometer entlang des kristallklaren Meeres. Besonders
berühmt sind die Strände von Bol mit ihren runden Kieselsteinen, unter denen wiederum
der Zlatni Rat - das Goldene Horn - eine besondere Stellung an der gesamten
Adriaküste einnimmt. Seine weiße (durch Ablagerungen entstandene) Spitze erstreckt
die Insel
500 m ins Blau des Meeres, unruhig hin und her züngelnd, da sie von Wind und Wellen
einmal auf diese, einmal auf die andere Seite geworfen wird.
Auf der Halbinsel Glavica im Osten der Stadt steht in göttlicher Ruhe das
Dominikanerkloster, in dessen Museum sich eine reiche Sammlung von Funden der
Unterwasserarchäologie, von Gemälden und Münzen befindet.
Rund um den Hafen liegt das Zentrum von Bol mit seinen Sehenswürdigkeiten: dem
barocken Sommerpalais Loza mit der Kirche, einem Palais aus der Übergangszeit von der
Renaissance zum Barock, das eine Gemäldegalerie beherbergt, der Kirche „Mutter Gottes
vom Berge Karmel", dem Marktplatz und dem Kastell.
Mit den ursprünglichen Bürgerhäusern bilden diese Gebäude eine harmonische Einheit.
In den letzten Jahren hat sich Bol gut entwickelt und so entstand im Westen der Stadt
die moderne Siedlung. Die wichtigsten Hotels befinden sich in der Nähe des Goldenen
Horns.
Die Umgebung von Bol ist reich an unzähligen beschaulichen Plätzen, wo man unter der
Sonne, beim Geruch von Rosmarin und
Salbei und bei unvergesslicher Zikadenmusik Ruhe, Erholung und persönlichen Genuss
findet.
Bol e il piu antico insediamento costiero sull’isola di Brazza. E’ l’unico sulla
costa meridionale, posto al centro di questa, ai piedi della corona di Bol e del
monte Vidova Gora ( 778 m ), la cima piu alta di tutte le isole dell’Adriatico. Il
paese si estende per qualche chilometro lungo la costa.
Il mare e eccezionalmente limpido e le onde trasparenti sembrano di cristallo. Ci
sono inoltre tante spiagge suggestive.
A ovest di Bol si trova la spiaggia “Zlatni Rat”, una delle maggiori bellezze
naturali dell’Adriatico.
Essa si estende per quasi mezzo chilometro nell’azzurro del mare e cresce con
l’accumulo e la sedimentazione di sassolini attorno agli scogli sottomarini. La punta
cambia spesso forma, cercando di assecondare la volonta delle onde e delle correnti
marine.
Nella parte orientale di Bol, sulla penisola Glavica, in una pace solenne, risplende
il convento dei domenicani. Il suo museo comprende una ricca collezione di reperti
archeologici, vari oggetti pregiati e quadri. Intorno al porto si e formato il centro
urbano di Bol.
Qui si trovano palazzi in stile barocco, il loggiato con sopra la chiesetta, il
palazzo rinascimentale-barocco in cui si trova la galleria d`arte, la chiesa
parrocchiale, la piazza e il Kastil. Gli edifici in stile si inseriscono in modo
armonioso in un complesso di costruzioni di architettura popolare tipica dalmata.
La parte occidentale del paese ha origine piu recente e verso Zlatni Rat sono situati
i principali complessi alberghieri.
Bol e una localita marina di eccezionale bellezza.
La sua costa con numerosi e piacevoli angoli di pace offre l’emozione di grandi spazi
liberi, creati per la meditazione ed il rilassamento.
Nelle soleggiate radure si sente l’odore della salvia e del rosmarino e l’intensa
musica primordiale dello stridio delle cicale. In questi luoghi ogni visitatore potra
godere piacevoli sensazioni.
