Pjescana uvala ist eine moderne Siedlung, die erst vor ungefähr dreißig Jahren entstanden ist. Sie wurde von Schwimmern, denen der natürliche Sandstrand in einer Bucht zwischen zwei Halbinseln sehr gefiel, entdeckt. Daher auch der Name - Sandbucht. Zugleich kamen auch die Nautiker, um ihre Boote an einer vor Stürmen und Gewittern sicheren Stelle anzulegen.
