APARTMENTS MEZIC - ZAOSTROG are located in the old pine woods, only 800 meters away from the sea and less than 600 meters from the Adriatic highway that takes you through the little village.
Zaostrog is a village on Makarska Riviera, 16 km northwest of Ploce. The village consists of the older part located on the foot of the steep limestone cliffs of Biokovo and the new part located on the coast.
In front of the apartment there is a secured parking for your vehicle in "thick" shade, what can be very grateful during summer months. As guests of Apartments Mezić, you can use the parking on the beach as well, which is reserved for you and you can make the use of the free internet zone.
If you have a pet, feel free to take them with you, because the conditions that we provide allow it. In addition to playing and swimming for your pets, you can rent a famous Dalmatian boat – “barka”, the boat with a cabin, or maybe, a scooter 50 cm3.

ZAOSTROG is a nice tourist resort at the foot of a mountain slope Biokovo, close to beautiful beaches and pine forests. The name derives from fortress Ostrog, which was built on a hill nearby. It is located in the south of Makarska Riviera and it is famous for its long history and good tourist facilities.
Zaostrog is an attractive destination for many visitors and tourists who wish to relax and swim in clean waters. Zaostrog was ruined during the great earthquake in 1962. Residents had needed a long time to repair the stone houses. Today, Zaostrog is a modern village and its inhabitants are mostly engaged in tourism.
Zaostrog as a tourist resort, is an attractive destination for its natural beauty, pine forests and beautiful beaches. Zaostrog offers its guests and tourists a number of villas, holiday houses, hotels and restaurants that serve Dalmatian food and wines. Pine trees offer all guests a pleasant shade during hot summer days.
History of Zaostrog dates from the time of the ancient Illyrians and Romans as a Roman road was passing through to reach distant cities and provinces. In medieval times, fortress Ostrog was built on a nearby hill and Zaostrog was named after it. History of Zaostrog records the rullling and residing of royalty brothers Vlatković-Jurjević from this fortress that they had rearranged as their residence. When the danger of attacks from the sea and land had stopped, the inhabitants had began to descend toward the sea and build the village. History of Zaostrog recorded substantial demolition of buildings during great earthquake in 1962 and this was the reason that people had moved to the village by the sea and that had chosen to start a new life there. The recent history of Zaostrog notes that the inhabitants began to engage in tourism, commerce and transport. Zaostrog is today a modern town and it is still developing.
